The Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, founded in 1903, is a fun group, with each court assuming an obligation to extend financial support and assistance to Shriners Hospitals for Children with emphasis on the hospital fund, hospital sewing and special projects. There are currently 86 courts throughout the United States and Canada.

The Ladies Oriental Shrine was organized in the jurisdiction of Osiris Temple in Wheeling, West Virginia, on Feb. 14, 1903. The Grand Council was organized in 1914 and incorporated in 1954. The top official of the Grand Council has the title of Grand High Priestess and the principal of local courts has the title of High Priestess. To become a member of LOS, a woman must be related to a MASTER MASON by birth, marriage or adoption.  Ask an officer or a member for a petition!

If you would like to become a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine, and do not have a Master Mason affiliation, why not encourage your husband, brother, nephew, father or grandfather to become a Mason?  Visit the Shrine Headquarters website at
www.shrinershq.org for more information about the Shrine, affiliated bodies and our hospitals.

The ladies of Bona Court #8 in Cincinnati, Ohio are proud to support "our kids" at the Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati, which specializes in burn care.  Many volunteer hours are spent with the children and many more are spent working for the children behind the scenes.  Our ladies also support other Shrine Hospitals throughout the country when requested.

There are several units that are a special part of Bona Court #8.  These units are outlined on the Unit Information page (click on the link below).

Bona Court is a member of the Great Lakes Unit Meet, which meets each September, and conducts a business session, hosts a banquet and units from every subordinate court are encouraged to perform.  "GLUM" is a weekend of fun and catching up with old friends while making new ones.

Each Spring, the Grand Council of the Ladies Oriental Shrine holds its Grand Council Session, which is usually about one week in length, and is held in the city of choice by the retiring Grand High Priestess.  The purpose of this Grand Council session is to conduct business, elect new officers, and provide education on revisions and ritual work.  Of course, there are many opportunities for socializing, and catching up with friends from all over the US and Canada.
